Carpet Cleaning

Carpets can be challenging to get clean as there can be a lot of dust and dirt accumulating in them. Some carpets can be cleaned with a carpet cleaner, while other carpets are more sensitive to water.

Cleaning of synthetic carpets

  • Vacuum with the hard nozzle in slow motions and high suction power to achieve the greatest effect – it does not help to press hard with the vacuum cleaner.
  • Use evt. A nozzle with motor.
  • Rent evt. A carpet cleaner in a hardware store or at a carpet dealer if the carpet is very dirty.

Cleaning of cotton rugs

  • Vacuum with the hard nozzle.
  • Wash small rugs in the washing machine.
  • Hang the rug to dry in a warm place with good ventilation so that it dries as quickly as possible. Long drying time can make the carpet smell sour.

Cleaning coconut or sisal rugs

  • Vacuum with the hard nozzle.

NB!  Coconut and sisal do not tolerate getting wet. Therefore, you cannot use a carpet cleaner as it uses water to clean the carpets.

Cleaning of wool carpets

  • Vacuum with the hard nozzle. You should vacuum real carpets by following the direction of the pile (the soft, furry right side).
  • Rent evt. A carpet cleaner in a hardware store or at a carpet dealer if the carpet is very dirty. However, you must make sure that the carpet does not get too wet during the cleaning. You cannot be sure that all stains will disappear, and in some cases the remaining ones may be clearer after treatment with a carpet cleaner.

How to remove stains on carpets

  • Wipe up stains immediately if possible.
  • Dilute the stain with water, soak up and continue until the stain is gone.
  • If the stain is old, use Privat rengøring foam.
